Introduction

Over the last 7 years i have experienced a recurring knee problem that has stopped me running for any extended distance.

As a teenager I had minor issues with my knees (including Osgood Schlatters Disease- It sounds bad but it is actually caused by "growing pains" )

I would use various techniques to relieve the pain such as - RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation), massage and ultra sound and this always seemed to be effective.

The problem that put a stop to my running altogether was something quite different. I experience a pain diaganolly below my left knee (on the outside) that builds and builds until it is impossible to run any more( believe me i have tried to keep going!)

This journal will plot all my running related activity and te associated fitness work i have planned to try and solve this issue.

My running is only for recreation and enjoyment and my aim is simply to be able to enjoy running again and to be able to explore long distance country routes on foot (10k +)
